~Unstuffed Cabbage~

12 oz lean ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1/2 med. size head green cabbage (about 1 1/2 lbs)
        quartered, cored and cut into 1 inch strips (8 cups)
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 T. packed light brown sugar
1 T. distilled white vinegar
1/2 teas. salt
Brown beef and onions in a 4 or 5 quart dutch oven over med-high heat, stirring with a fork to break up chunks, 5 min or til beef is lightly browned. Drain off fat.
Stir in cabbage, cover and cook over med. Heat 5 -7 min stirring occasionally til cabbage wilts.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 8-10 min, til cabbage is tender.
